Interpretation by lens

Clinical interpretation

Empirically replete in any unexplained refractory hypokalemia or torsades de pointes.

Causes of abnormal values

Causes of LOW
  • Diuretics, PPIs, aminoglycosides, cisplatin
  • Alcoholism
  • Refeeding syndrome
  • Diarrhea, malabsorption
Pitfalls
